The Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board (MFB) is a world class emergency service employing over 2300 people and responding to 36,000 calls per year from Melbourne's four million residents and visitors. Its services include urban search and rescue, response to fires and hazardous incidents, road accident rescue, emergency medical response and marine response. This role will allow you to grow a long and rewarding career path working within the Business Application team as a Senior Systems Analyst, focused on providing development of application enhancements, application support and systems analysis skills for key strategic applications and systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development of enhancements on internal applications
- Vendor management ensuring compliance with SLA’s
- Management of the application environment, including security
- Perform deployments of applications and configurations
- Support the detailed design phase including technical solution design
- Co-ordinate the technical implementation of solutions with stakeholders
- Management of Request, Problem and Incident cases
- Provide the governance, review and implementation support for all change requests
- Mentor and coach team members to improve standards and capabilities
KEY CRITERIA
- Strong coding application experience across both .Net and Java based applications
- Proven experience in supporting Web and Mobile applications
- Exposure and good knowledge in Messaging platforms, e.g. IBM MQ, Active MQ, MS MQ
- 5+ years experience in applications support, testing and functional development
- Familiar with SQL and Oracle databases
- Experience in analysing workflow and providing solutions
- Proven record of driving continuous improvements
- Strong vendor management experience
