  • Urgently seeking a Level 3 Support engineer / Systems Administrator
  • Working in the CBD - right by Southern Cross Station!
  • ASAP start till November - potential for permanent work after

 

 

Systems Administration position

  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all IT servers including associated hardware, software and peripherals
  • Troubleshoot physical/virtual windows servers in a HYPER-V Cluster environment and VMware environment.
  • Perform backups on server, tape swaps and ensure data is protected with regular backup routines with scheduled recover from backup routinely practiced (currently using Microsoft Data Protection Manager and Veeam Backup and Replication)
  • Use the IT Support Request System to document, prioritize and track Helpdesk and maintenance requests.
  • Responsible for network monitoring by using the schools firewall WatchGuard.
  • Maintain student and staff profiles (currently using Casper).
  • Ensure that system security is adequate and maintain virus protection for the network and all users.
  • Manage and administer Active directory.

Skills Required

Core technical skills include in-depth knowledge and experience in supporting the following technologies within large-scale environments:

  • Microsoft Skills - Expert knowledge and troubleshooting experience in MS Exchange, MS Office Suite, Office 365
  • Active Directory, Active Directory Federation Services, Azure AD Connect, Group Policy, File and Print Services
  • Experience in supporting and troubleshooting Windows Server environments (Windows Server 2008/2008 R2/ 2012/ 2012 R2/ Windows 8.1 or Windows 10)
  • Experience with Vmware 
  • Experience in SCCM, SCOM
  • Basic Networking (TCP/IP) / IP Telephony / Lync Enterprise
