Cognizant is hiring Big Data Architect position in Sydney.

Responsibilities: 

• Will be responsible for designing real time data processing systems using big data stack.
• Participate in AGILE development process and complete tasks as per Sprint deliverables.
• Should be able to heap team members on day to day activities
• Should be able to review the design and provide recommendations for process/performance improvement. 
• Should be able to review code written by other team members.

Mandatory Skills: 

• The candidate should have strong technical and design skills to solve complex big data problems including real time data processing systems.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment, excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of end users and technical resources
• Experienced with Spark software stack, prior experience in working on Spark and PySpark based Big data implementations is mandatory
• Should have strong Object Oriented design concepts and should have hands-on experience in coding.
• Should have strong knowledge and hands-on few of HDFS, Map reduce, Hive, Impala, Tej, Sqoop, Pig, Oozie, HBase, Cassandra, Mongo DB, Kafka, Spark, Storm, Knox, Ranger, Flume, NIFI, Falcon, Kerberos,  Sentry, Cloudera Manager, Cloudera Navigator and Ambari.
• Experience working with Python or Scala is mandatory.
• Familiarity with data loading tools like Flume, Sqoop is necessary
• Should have experience of designing and developing applications involving high volume messages.
• Should have designed and implemented systems using Lambda and Kappa architectures.
• Should have experience of working on Kafka and NiFi/Kylo
• Should have experience of working on real time data processing systems like Storm, Flink or Spark Streaming.
• Should have experience of Modeling NOSQL data stores and working with NoSQL’s like HBase/Cassandra is needed.
• Familiarity with Cloud is desirable and knowledge of Machine Learning/Analytics is good to have.
• Should have understanding of Docker/Kubernetes and DevOps model.

Qualifications & Certifications: 

• Candidate should have 10-15 years of experience with 3-4 years of hands on experience with Hadoop and Big data technologies
• Bachelors or Masters in Engineering or equivalent. 
• Cloudera certified Hadoop Developer or Horton Works certified Spark Developer.
