  • Senior role in rapidly expanding Australian Owned Tech Company

Be a part of our team

Are you passionate about education and technology? Do you want a job that can provide you with the perfect work-life balance?

If you answered yes to any of the above, then we might be the perfect fit for you!

We’re a fast-growing Australian education technology company that is building a global web app for K-12 schools worldwide. Our product, Schoolbox, is a self- or cloud-hosted community portal, intranet and learning management system that is now being sold in four countries.

At Alaress Pty. Ltd., we know that life isn’t all work and no play, which is why our company culture focuses on collaboration and teamwork above all else! Our team shares a common vision: to create amazing software that has a positive impact on education and schools around the world. Though the company is rapidly expanding, we still maintain a startup culture and outlook. Join our team and be a party of this unique community!

We are looking for:

Someone who is ready to take the next leap in their career as a Product Owner! You should have a track record of working in a fast-paced agile environment, and have played a key role in scoping requirements and developing product roadmaps, including strategy, release cycle management, product planning, UX design/research and identifying future features.

You are flexible, adaptable and curious, with strong communication and problem-solving skills. This is a role where you will be driving your own outcomes, so you will be self-organised and proactive, with a keen willingness to learn the ins and outs of the industry, organisation and their systems.

The Product Owner will be seen as a senior team member within an existing, in-house product development team, managing various stakeholders, working alongside an existing PO, taking ownership of the product, and collaborating with internal technology teams to define milestones and ensure successful delivery.

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining a vision for the product, and communicating that vision to the team. In addition, you will be required to present that vision to the organisation and customer base.

  • The product and its features, from concept to EOL,  working with the Chief Product Owner and other strategic roles to ensure a cohesive vision is delivered across the business in terms of quality and functional goals.

  • The design, usability, quality and delivery of every feature under their segment, and be the key decision maker on priorities and design decisions. These decisions will be made in consultation with all key stakeholders (customer, support, developers and sales) at all stages of the development lifecycle.

  • Maintaining understanding of both the engineering and business side of the product release, and representing the end user’s needs within the company. You must strive to deliver the highest value product in the least amount of time.

  • Discovering, researching and developing a product roadmap containing key objectives and timelines. You will need to prioritise work and tasks to ensure continuous delivery of projects that deliver maximum value to the business.

  • Communicating with customers, prospects, company stakeholders and team members to ensure a shared understanding of the roadmap.

  • Ensuring features are completed to a high quality and released frequently as part of product updates.

  • Your self-growth to understand educational trends, K-12 domain knowledge areas and best practice in learning technologies to provide insight to the development team.

You will enjoy:

  • A flexible working environment, hours and some work from home options.

  • Professional development opportunities, including a self improvement annual budget.

  • Profit share in the company's success.

  • A voice in a company that listens.

  • Working in a great culture where people enjoy their job, the work they do and the software they create.

  • Being a part of a high-tech company that is experiencing rapid growth based on a market leading product.

  • Our fantastic customers and the great relationships we have with them.

Join a team and company who are supporting each other to reach their full potential. This is your opportunity to legitimately be a part of something much bigger. We are forging an Australian tech legacy and need your skills, attitude and hard work to ensure our company is a global success.
