This iconic Melbourne brand with 11 stores Australia wide is known for it's beautiful retail spaces, high end fashion imports and it's own Eponymous label. This role is focused on designing and ranging the apparel and shoe collections of the Husk brand. We are looking for an experienced designer with a thorough understanding of quality and craftsmanship. A passionate individual with a high level of creativity balanced with commercial understanding and a strong sense of business. Your key responsibilities include;
- Mood boards
- Trend research and forecasting
- Range planning
- Design and development
- Sourcing of raw materials
- Creation of Tech packs
- Fit sessions
The successful applicant will have a minimum of 5 years proven fashion design experience in a similar role.
- A tertiary qualification in Design
- A thorough understanding of fabrics and textiles
- Excellent knowledge of garment construction
- Strong understanding of style coordination and range planning
- Understanding of price architecture and margin expectations
- Experience with both local and offshore makers
- Be highly efficient and be able to multi task
- Print file set up and management
- Understanding and management of the critical path
- Presentations at retail and executive level
