About the role
We are seeking a person with combined skills in Drafting and Estimating
You'll be responsible for the following Dratting/ Estimating tasks as your primary role first and foremost:
- Documenting master files of plans to our product database
- Transfer plans to design software to produce accurate BOQ
- Develop a complete understanding of our product range Creating full base BOQ's from master documentation for accurate base house pricing
- Ongoing maintenance and improvements to existing BOQ's.
- Occasional sales estimating to assist the sales team.
- Cost analysis on new and existing designs.
- Developing new designs and products in conjunction with our sales team
- Cost analysis on new and existing designs.
- Develop Knowledge of industry standards and new legislation
- Collaborating with our Sales department and internal departments to assist them with any queries
- Actioning costing requests and site cost adjustments.
- Checking and proofing of work
- Preparing and maintaining accurate base model costing's
- Interpreting contract documentation, plans, building processes and procedures, relevant legislation, standards and codes
- Drawing contract documentation from master files
- Updating contract plans from variation requests

Skills and experience
the successful applicant have the following attributes to apply for this role:
- Extensive experience using BEAMS Software or a similar estimating software product
- Extensive experience in drafting and proficiency in using CAD software
- Good listening skills and a positive attitude
- A strong team mentality, who likes to have fun
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- An enthusiasm to learn, use initiative and help others
- Analytical skills and great attention to detail
- Great time management skills, someone who is able to meet a deadline
- Ability to read and interpret contract documentation and working drawings
- Working knowledge and interpretation of relevant legislation, standards and codes
- Previous Estimating and Drafting experience within the Residential Construction Industry is essential
