The Opportunity

We are looking for a passionate, motivated and proactive Urban Designer with the right combination of talent, energy and a commitment to excellence, to join our National Design team in Melbourne. Our Design team works across the spectrum of design: from strategic visioning to implementation. We’ve worked on every kind of urban project, from retail centres and master plans, to new communities and the revitalisation and renewal of cities.

About You

As an Urban Designer your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Design Studio in servicing client requirements, as required
• Visually communicating design concepts in 2D and 3D using free hand or computer programs such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Sketchup
• Providing a range of quality services including site analysis, project positioning, urban framework plans, urban context reports, yield analyses, master planning and design guidelines for relevant projects, as directed
• Attending client meetings and liaising with clients and fellow consultants

This role will suit a recent graduate or someone with 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role with a combination of the following competencies:

• Seeks and shares best practice inside and outside the organisation to deliver high quality, innovative outputs
• Communicates graphically at a proficient level using both digital and hand drawn formats to convey design ideas, concepts and documentation
• Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail in all documentation and correspondence
• Prioritises the competing demands of multiple assignments and/or projects within agreed timeframe
