About the role:

We are currently seeking to engage a senior practitioner to join our Planning + Design Team to further drive and expand on the team's recent successes with major infrastructure and transport projects and site master plans. This position would report directly to our Planning Director and sit without Aurecon’s Environment and Planning unit.

The successful candidate will also have significant input into the future direction of the growing planning approvals and environmental planning teams and collaborate with our internal service groups (eg transport, land development, buildings) across the business.

The requirements of the position will include:

In this role you will be required to:

• Assume leadership responsibilities including preparing fee proposals and tender submissions, assessing and reporting on technical documentation, leading multi-disciplinary project teams, managing sub-consultants, and delivery of projects.
• Interact with internal and external clients at middle to senior levels.
• Generation of new business and engaging in client contact.
• Preparation of development applications, options assessments, planning scheme amendments, and strategic planning reports, strategies, and policies.
• Undertake and lead stakeholder and community engagement processes.

 What we are looking for:

To be successful in this role you must possess:

• Strong project management skills with the ability to work independently and also lead project teams.
• High level of interest in working to support major infrastructure projects.
• A demonstrated ability in provision of planning advice for complex projects.
• Experience in running projects on time and within budget and the ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for facilitating relationships with internal and external clients and decision-makers.
• Advanced understanding of the preparation of site masterplans, structure plans and urban design frameworks.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting planning reports and projects.
