In your new role you will be responsible for providing specialist planning and environmental assessment services that are compliant with relevant statutory requirements. You will also provide authoritative technical advice and actively participate in consultation processes associated with the preparation of environmental assessment documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare planning approvals and other environmental assessment documentation that meet the statutory requirements of the Environment Planning and Assessment Act (and other relevant legislation
• Adopt a proactive role in monitoring good practice environmental assessments and contribute to the development of innovative solutions across an extensive range of social, environmental, economic and transport planning problems
• Liaise with the Department of Planning and Infrastructure, other relevant agencies and stakeholders in relation to metropolitan land use planning, development application and environmental assessment processes, and to share information, clarify issues, seek cooperation, and communicate progress
• Participate in community consultation processes associated with the preparation of environmental assessments
• Contribute authoritative technical expertise to planning issues and develop appropriate proposals and solutions

To be considered, you will have the following

• Tertiary qualifications in planning, environmental management, engineering or a related field
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the preparation of environmental assessments relating to the delivery of major development or infrastructure projects
• Expert knowledge and understanding of the Environment, Planning and Assessment Act, the NSW planning system, and associated statutory processes
