Our client is a unique and market segment leading women’s fashion brand offering a career opportunity for a motivated and responsible Production Manager to join their Collingwood based Studio.

This is a full time, permanent position and is available for an immediate start (will wait for notice periods as required).

About Our Client & Position Overview:-

Our client specialises in high-end women’s knitwear and continue to explore and push the boundaries with the design and knitting techniques to produce original and high quality garments.

You will report to the Creative Director and the role will require you to have excellent technical and organisational skills and a keen eye for detail to manage and coordinate all aspects of production from development through to delivery, ensuring all timelines are met.

You will be dynamic and personable with a can do approach able to work independently to manage their own workflow to meet production and delivery timelines with an organised and methodical approach.

Your main responsibilities and duties will include:-

  • Production Management and planning - Developing and managing the critical path for each range from design to production including the Creative Directors workflow.
  • Logistics and delivery management: Coordinating all aspects of import and local logistics with associated budgets. Creating and managing seasonal buy plans.
  • Supplier relationship management: price negotiations, placing and monitoring purchase orders and seeking new onshore and offshore suppliers.
  • Quality control across all products: implementing strategic ways to ensure all quality control is met.

Your experience, skill set and qualifications will include:-

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Dependable and reliable
  • Previous experience, 3-5 years, in a similar role working with a clothing design and manufacturing company
  • A thorough understanding of garment construction (both fully fashioned knitwear (advantageous but not essential) and woven), fabrics and production processes
  • Experience working and negotiating with onshore and offshore suppliers
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft office 365 suite, Excel
  • Adobe Creative Cloud (advantageous but not required)
  • Content Management software (advantageous but not required)
  • Ideally, tertiary qualification preferred but not essential
  • Minimum 3-5 years clothing production experience
  • Experience with knitwear manufacturing (advantageous but not required)
  • Local Melbourne and offshore production in NZ or Asia (advantageous but not required).
  • Asian language skills (advantageous but not required)
  • Current Australian drivers licence essential
  • Own vehicle (advantageous but not required) - with travel costs reimbursed
  • Excellent technical and organisational skills
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Able to work independently to manage their own workflow
  • To be able to think logically and problem solve development and production issues independently
