The Slattery Media Group is seeking a mid-level Graphic Designer, adept at all components of the design environment.

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong design background and have demonstrated the capacity to take an idea from the brief through to conclusion. We have equal needs for creativity in print and digital publications.

We're seeking a person who ticks all the following:

• Is ever alert for communication and publishing ideas that make a difference.

• Is willing and able to conceive an idea, and take it through all levels of due diligence, including mocks, tenders, often with multiple variations.

• Is not afraid of taking a risk.

• Takes a vigorous and caring approach to design.

• Is able to work closely with clients of all sizes, needs, expectations and personalities.

• Is able to think quickly, and is able to provide multiple solutions to any communications problem.

• Is constantly curious as to what's next.

• Coding for digital work is not required, but understanding how digital outcomes are achieved, and how to work with, and brief, developers is a fundamental.

The profile of the candidate includes:

• Tertiary/TAFE qualifications in Design/Visual Communications or a Minimum 3-5 years' design experience

• Demonstrated capacity to create an outcome—from conception to conclusion.

• Versatility, and ability to create solutions for clients from brief to conclusion.

• Must be able to manage multiple projects.

• Is able to react to whatever turns up, whenever: speed of concept is a huge benefit.

• Is a team player, capable of working with design, editorial, digital and sales as required.

• Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.

• Demonstrate creative and design development skills.

• Strong typography skills across digital and print.

• Awareness of good contemporary digital design.

• Knowledge of HTML is a bonus.

• Experience with MAC OS and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and powerpoint.

The winner will:

• Be working on books or magazines one day, digital solutions the next, and both the day after.
