Specialising in Scandinavian high-end furniture and accessories, over the last 15 years Great Dane has a built loyal base of architecture and design clients, as well as people who enjoy the finer things in life through the retail channel. With the continued growth of their Contract business in Melbourne they are now looking for someone to join the Commercial & Contract team in in Sydney.

The Role

Your key responsibility in this autonomous position will be to ensure sales targets achieved with a focus on margin and profitability. As well as building new business relationships, you will be assigned a number of accounts of established architecture & design clients which are currently being managed from Melbourne and tasked with building rapport and explore opportunities within these relationships.  

Day to day your tasks will include:

  • Understanding assigned clients upcoming projects, exploring opportunities that you discover;
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships across the A&D segment, also including but not limited builders and facilities managers;
  • Successfully manage the client relationships through all stages of the project from initial brief until sale & final payment;
  • Keeping up to date with the latest company products and wider industry trends;
  • Maintaining strong relationships with project managers ensuring that they are provided clear details regarding all projects to ensure successful implementation and maximum profitability;
  • Ensuring all customer requests and queries are dealt with in a prompt and first-class manner;
  • An ongoing commitment to preserving an in-depth knowledge of product offerings, down to the finer details to ensure your clients can be educated specifically and correctly throughout the specification process

Your Application

To be successful in the application process you must demonstrate the following expertise and skill sets:

  • You will have a detailed knowledge of the architecture and design industry, demonstrating your expertise across the specification process;
  • You must be passionate about the furniture and the design process; 
  • You will be revenue driven with a proven ability to achieve targets and get results;
  • You will be articulated and able to clearly communicate with a range of internal departments and external clients;
  • Your organisational skills will be second to none, ensuring that your project managers and working towards your client’s briefs;
  • Throughout the process you will clearly demonstrate your ability to build rapport;
  • Candidates with qualifications in A&D or commercial construction will be viewed favourably, however not completely essential.

Being the first Commercial sales person in Sydney, the opportunity to grow the business and the team is genuine. We've just moved into a brand new beautiful showroom in Paddington and are the Commercial Contract team will be based in the office upstairs.

The ability to work autonomously, with a brand and designs that sell themselves are few and far between. 

Base salary will be commensurate with experience but expect it to be around the $75-$90K (dependent on expertise), plus car allowance, super and incentives.
