About the Role:
 
We are looking for an experienced Associate with a passion for the future Commercial Architecture and Design to become an emerging Commercial leader within our National Practice. 
  
With a strong plan to become a Top 10, Tier 1 Practice in the next 3 years we are looking for more emerging leaders to become part of our growing Practice as we continue to go from strength to strength.
  
As an Associate your role will be largely client facing, both managing existing client relationships as well as growing your own client’s relationships. You will continue to play a project leader role on larger project as well as overseeing the delivery of multiple projects of varying sizes across several team of highly engaged, passionate and competent designers. As a leader you will also play a mentoring role to staff members both within project and as part of our mentoring program.
  
You will become part of a growing team of over 100 Design and Architectural professionals across Australia and join a growing team of nearly 70 highly engaged, passionate and competent professionals in our Melbourne Studio.
  
This is a perfect role for someone who is currently acting as a Project Lead looking to step up to the next level or someone who is currently an Associate or Senior Associate level but cannot see a realistic pathway to partnership occurring in the coming years.

This role is based at our Head Studio in the heart of the Melbourne CBD. Our offices are at the cutting edge of ‘work-space design’ so you will be surrounded by an inspiring environment every day.

General Duties:
  
  • Manage existing client relationships as well as creating new client relationships and leveraging of existing relationships
  • Become a thought leader and respected design professional in the industry
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with consultants and other relevant industry contacts
  • Oversee projects for end to end: client briefings, workshops, concept design, space planning, design development, documentation to on-site construction management and contract administration
  • Oversee the management of project operations; including resourcing, invoicing and project review using Deltek Vision software
  • Oversee the cohesive working relationships and outcomes of your project teams
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and mentoring of other staff members

About you:

Ideally you have a respected reputation and experience working in the Commercial sector having worked on both new commercial building and refurbishment of large commercial and mixed-use building. We are looking for individuals who are driven, highly self-motivated and engage to build and leverage existing relationships and networks to achieve their goals.
  
Our leaders lead by example and are able to put their hand to day to day tasks when required so you will need to be passionate about design and able to manage projects from end to end as a project lead with strong design, design development and construction skills and knowledge of relevant BCA’s and related building regulations and specifications.
  
We create designs that are inspiring, functional and future proof so we need to build design that work to achieve our clients objectives.

To be successful in this role you will need:
  
  • Established experience and reputation in Commercial Architecture
  • Experience and involvement in client relationship management and development
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in commercial interior design practice or environment, preferably as a qualified or registered architect
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to proactively communicate and manage clients, consultants and internal team members to achieve desired outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering designs from briefing to project handover
  • Solution focus – demonstrated proactive and collaborative approach to projects, clients and teams
  • Proven ability to manage and oversee multiple projects at once
  • Strong knowledge and appreciation of relevant BCA’s and related building regulations and specifications
  • Collaborative leadership approach, respectful and patient with and natural team player
