About the role
We are growing and looking for a mid-weight industrial designer looking to become a team leader. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative individual who is passionate about design and in store marketing. Our work is diverse, so the role will not be limited to one manufacturing process or material. Our projects range from temporary promotional POP, to semi-permanent and permanent store displays.
You will be assigned projects from start to end giving you ownership over all production and design matters. The successful applicant will display a sense of confidence and motivation, whilst being focused on achieving results and seeing themselves grow inside of a growing business.

Skills and experience
Duties will include:
- Taking briefs from sales team and head designer
- Updating sales team daily of all WIP
- Design engineering for Asian production
- Liaising with Asian factories and getting positive results with minimal problems
- Growing the factory network and obtaining best quality at the lowest cost
- Liaising with freight-forwarding agents and building time lines for sales team
- Obtaining quotes from factories and building quotes in our system
- Presentations using Solidworks and Adobe Creative Suite software
- Exploring new and improved ways of presenting to customers
- Driving to Port Botany to conduct QC and check product prior to delivery to customer
- Building and testing prototypes
- Creating assembly instructions for end users
- Keeping a sharp eye on all in store marketing and related design trends
- Keeping up to date with industry software trends and making proposals to management
- Factory visits to China to conduct QC when feasible
Applicant:
Attention to detail is your strength. You strive to grow into a senior designer and mentor other designers. You will have a strong grasp on all manufacturing processes and have experience working with offshore factories. You would have completed a degree in industrial design (or similar), and have 3+ years relevant industry experience.
