Fast-paced and fun celebrity weekly magazine, OK! is looking for a creative, collaborative and calm leader for its vibrant art department. As the Art Director you will be responsible for the overall graphic design of the magazine and all its spin-offs under the direction of the Editor. You will be responsible for the overall style of the magazine and will ensure that high-quality design is aligned with core values of the brand, best practice design is implemented into all content streams across all platforms. You will be responsible for using your design flair on layouts and covers whilst managing a tight-knit team of designers. You’ll be fully aware of current market trends and be comfortable tackling the front cover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the visual appearance of the magazine in all aspects/in collaboration with the Editor
- Maintain consistent quality control of all visual elements of the content
- Provide creative input on all visual aspects of the magazine
- Work closely with editorial team to assure a smooth production cycle
- Lead the graphic design team, manage and maintain efficient workflows
What you will bring:
- Solid, proven experience in print media
- People management experience
- Ability to work to a very high standard and a fast pace
- Deadline driven with the ability to multi-task, while remaining calm under pressure
- Understanding/experience of Woodwing will be advantageous
- Advanced skills in Indesign/Illustrator/Photoshop
- Art Director (or very senior deputy) experience on weekly magazines
