Help transform the NSW social housing system in this long term contract ensuring the quality of housing design
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that the quality and program of housing design is effectively communicated, procured and delivered through external providers. You will support the delivery partners to develop high quality and innovative designs. This will enable the organisation to deliver new and improved transformation program to the social housing supply over the next 10 years. The program will include the delivery of 23,000 new and replacement social housing dwellings and more than 500 affordable dwellings in integrated communities with more than 40,000 private dwellings
Duties will include but not limited to:
- Identify, determine, plan and deliver design practice across the unit that enhance business outcomes and deliver on business goals and objectives.
- Analyse, advise, review and determine risks and mitigation to ensure the organisation meet the statutory obligations and to avoid unnecessary delays.
- Advise, guide, lead and support the key project stakeholders and work with the business partners in bringing together design/ service information, enhancements and any rectifications and collaborate with designers and contractors to ensure they have the information they need to carry out their duties
- Liaise with the Principal Design Manager, key stakeholders and business partners to keep them informed of any risks that need to be controlled during the design and construction phase(s)
- Participate in buildability and value engineering reviews
- Drive the implementation of innovative, cost efficient and practical design solutions.
- Collaborate across teams to embed risk profiling and management into organisational strategies and policies
What you’ll need to succeed
- Qualifications in Architectural design, Project Management and/ or demonstrable design management experience in an architectural or building contractor practice.
- A demonstrated ability to manage, develop and mentor staff within a team.
- Extensive experience in the application of NSW building and planning laws
- Ability to Proactively manage work health and safety risks and carry out risk assessments to eliminate or control project hazards
- Ability to Prepare scope and business cases for more ambiguous or complex projects including cost and resource impacts
- Ability to create appropriate strategies, approaches and plans for divisional governance and risk management structure(s) that leads to the desired culture to facilitate the division’s immediate needs, long term interests and viability

This role is Parramatta based with engagement on a contract basis for at least 6 months with an opportunity for extension. Paying good rates of $600-700/day + Super it is only open to candidates with full working rights in Australia.
