THE ROLE

You will be responsible for the overall planning, direction, coordination of resources within the project team along with implementation and execution of your specific project from conception to completion.  At all times ensure the product exceeds client expectation and is delivered on time and within budget.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Your primary focus is to develop and lead the project management team to delivery projects on time, on specification & on budget
  • Manage Profit and Loss reports by project
  • Develop and implement detailed ‘end to end’ project plans by introducing industry best in class systems and processes.
  • Build and foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders inclusive of the Commercial team – Account Managers (AM), Production Team – Production Manager & Production staff and Design Team – Studio Manager, Creative Manager and designated project design resource. Your primary partnership rests with the Account Manager representing the customer accounts to which you are assigned.
  • Monitor/develop Quality Assurance processes to ensure compliance with design specifications and meet project timelines.
  • Responsible for production first off components and manage the approval process with design and the commercial team. 
  • Manage packing and shipment details for components and finished goods from suppliers.
  • Work closely with the design department to ensure cost-effective materials and production processes are employed during the manufacturing process.
  • You may be required to attend customer meetings, domestic and international manufacturing facilities and participate in supplier presentations as per the specific project requirements
  • You will be delegated specific primary customer accounts to manage which will allow you to build knowledge and relationships over time.
  • Raise purchase orders for contractors and suppliers.

 

 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have strong communications skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proven track record of managing and mentoring staff
  • Must be highly numerate with an understanding of budget processes and cost management.
  • Proactive and able to propose suggestions to streamline processes to ensure a project runs smoothly within deadlines.
  • Have a proven ability to interpret multiple sources of complex data to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Able to demonstrate a high degree of initiative in the approach to considering project opportunities across a wide range of business functions.
  • An ability to deal with all levels of management within the organisation.

 

 

THE PERSON

  • Have at least two years’ experience within a senior project management role, ideally having worked in a POP / POS environment, design agency on retail builds or fit-outs.
  • Extensive knowledge on a range of materials used in the construction of displays.
  • Be able to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Be very competent in the use of Microsoft Office –Excel & Project a must.
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Have the ability to constantly engage with suppliers, being extremely personable throughout.
  • Have a passion for brand and retail environments with an understanding of the consumer experience.
  • Be creative, being a person who loves to bring ideas to the table, show willingness to input and add value wherever possible.
  • Be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Maintain a calm demeanour throughout, ensuring you remain in control when things don’t go to plan, or the workload gets demanding.
  • Be flexible.  Sometimes long hours are necessary as well as having the ability to travel abroad as and when needed.
