Glen Eira City Council has just set an ambitious goal of 50/50 mode split in our city by 2033. To meet this new goal, we have an exciting new Integrated Transport Strategy which seeks to create great people friendly places and attractive premium transport corridors.

Council's commitment to this new transport vision is demonstrated through the capital projects budget, which commits to a significant program of transport and civic projects in our activity centres, as well as piloting our new approach to 'whole of' corridor and neighbourhood upgrades.

We are looking for a Transport Planner who will be responsible for developing and implementing our strategic transport policy, development and tracking of our transport works priorities, and planning and delivering transport advocacy to help achieve our vision.

You will have:

• Demonstrated skills and experience in the area of strategic transport planning
• The ability to generate creative and innovative solutions to complex transport issues.
• An understanding and appreciation of sustainable transport, traffic and parking  issues and an ability to impart that knowledge
• Specialist skills and experience in policy development, analytical research and program implementation with in a transport based environment.
• Experience in community consultation processes.
• High competency in report writing and the graphical representation of ideas
• Initiative and the ability to work under minimal direction to achieve defined objectives.
