Position purpose

Works with the Leadership team and the Nau Creative Director to drive the development of new products. Takes active steps to improve development, production, and logistical processes for all Cult and Nau manufactured pieces. Maintains full product documentation across all pieces. Works directly with Designers to bring new products to the marketplace. Develops and maintains excellent internal and external relationships to drive profitability of the business.

Main tasks

Core objectives include:

  • Resolving design proposals into full production items
  • Sourcing new suppliers when required
  • Managing ongoing relationships with existing suppliers, continuously working to increase profitability for Cult
  • Assessing the viability of customisation to existing designs for projects
  • Procuring and assessing prototypes
  • Fully testing new products and rectifying issues before they are released to the marketplace
  • Maintaining full documentation covering bill of materials, supply chain, assembly instructions, quality control guidelines, product specification, 2D and 3D modelling, and pricing
  • Solving quality control and claims issues for any released products
  • Providing progress reports to the Leadership team
  • Educating Sales team on new products

  • Accurately tracking and reporting on all Product Development costs
  • Constantly expand your product knowledge of Cult’s range and across the larger furniture and lighting industry
  • Engage in regular industry events and trade fairs

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Industrial Design or Product Design

Experience

  • 2-3 years experience in the furniture and lighting industry highly regarded

  • Attention to detail: excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally.

Other
