Our client is based in Logan and is seeking a Business Services Officer within their City Standards and Animal Care - commencing 2nd July 2018.
 
This contract is initially up until 28th September 2018 working 38 hours per week between the hours of 8am to 5pm.
 
As Business Services Officer, you will be providing business support for a range of Programs of the City Standards and Animal Care Branch and the Branch Manager in accordance with the procedure:
  • Amenity, Safety and Parking
  • Graffiti and Pest
  • Animal Care
  • Education & Systems Services Group
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Data entry and maintenance of information into the Corporate Computer System (including Customer Service Module;; Animal Module, Infringements Module; Licensing Module and Registers Module) relating to all program activities of the Branch in accordance with procedure.
  • Provision of efficient and accurate information from Corporate Computer System (including Customer Service Module, Animal Module, Infringements Module, Licensing Module and Registers Module) to Senior Officers.
  • Analyse, review, amend and disseminate Customer enquiries and requests from Councillors and members of the public registered in Pathway by the Customer Service Branch and the Councillor Support Unit in accordance with corporate requirements with a quality customer service focus and their subsequent referral to appropriate sections of the branch in accordance with procedure.
  • Preparation and updating of spreadsheets and registers in the Corporate computer system as required for Senior Officers of the Branch.
  • Provide high levels of support to Business & Systems Services Officers and the Business & Systems Services Coordinator in the preparation of the Annual Animal Registration process together with providing support for the Annual Licensing Program.
  • Maintain statistics for functional areas of the Branch as requested by Senior Officers of the Branch as required from time to time.
  • Undertake any other duties as are reasonably within the limits of the employee's skills, competence and training.
 
In order to be successful for this role, you will possess the following:
 
Level 2
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of standard computer applications with practical experience in the use of databases.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal communication skills, in particular a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and to make prompt reliable decisions within bounds of allocated responsibilities.
  • Be self-motivated and demonstrate an ability to deal with other officers with tact, understanding and encouragement in performance of duties.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member through active involvement in the pursuit of the objectives of the City Standards and Animal Care Branch.  This will require participation, co-operation, understanding and a harmonious attitude to others.
  • Demonstrated effective written communication skills, in particular the ability to draft accurate and concise business letters, memos and reports.
  • Demonstrated high level of attention to detail to ensure that the work produced is accurate
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines.
 
Level 3
As above and:
  • Demonstrated high level of competency in the following Corporate Property System Modules: Customer Service Module, Animal Module, Licensing Module, Infringements Module, Registers Module
  • Demonstrate high level of understanding of the licence/permit renewal process and requirements prescribed in the Local Law No. 9 (Licensing) 1999 and Local Law No.12 (Council Property and Other Public Places) 2003.  Local Law 4 (Animal Management).
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of the Infringement Process.  In particular Senbos (ANPR) and the process on referring unpaid debts to SPER for Debt Recovery.
Working with this high profile organisation, your hourly rate will be $27.61p/h + Super.
