Located in one of Melbourne's best bayside suburbs, our client has been established for over 60 years.  Throughout this time they have been integral to the evolution of workplace design and grown to become a leading manufacturer of commercial furniture, providing interior design solutions to service many major corporate and government offices.

The need is for a Production Administration Assistant to report directly to the Production/Purchasing  Team

Your new role will include assisting the production team and  extensive administration, purchasing, controlling stock levels, reporting and various administrative duties.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating stock takes and cycle counts.
  • Closing work orders and issuing stock.
  • Sourcing and pricing new products.
  • Maintaining pricing.
  • Reporting and filing.
  • Liaising with suppliers and factory staff.
  • Administrative support to the Production team and Planners.
  • Back up for despatch.
  • Calculating import/export freight.
  • Using Pronto software, plan and expedite purchase orders, raise purchase orders within the Pronto purchasing modules and cover the receipting of goods.
  • Control stock levels using Pronto Re-order Reports and MRP Reports, plus other trigger systems such as Kanban.
  • Other administrative duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • You may hold Tertiary qualification in either Business Management, Manufacturing, Purchasing and/or Logistics Management, ideal but not necessary.
  • Would possibly suit a graduate who has studied the above subjects.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, production administration in particular.
  • A keen analytical mind.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Inventory management skills.
  • Computer literacy, and proficiency using Microsoft Office.
