Our client is a national specialist provider of contractor management services for IT and medical professionals, delivering contractor engagement and labour hire solutions for companies, agencies and individuals. Based in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, they are currently looking for a highly experienced administrator to lead the day to day administrative functions of the business and contribute to the further growth and development of the company’s service offerings.

This is a hands-on role in a small team environment, and the successful candidate will be a quick thinker with outstanding skills in all areas of office administration coupled with a bright and friendly personality and a can-do attitude. The ability to read and understand contracts is essential, along with high level customer service skills and a thorough understanding of the finance and administrative functions of a business. This is a fast-paced and energetic environment where initiative, problem solving and teamwork is crucial to the delivery of quality and timely outcomes.

Your day will include:

  • Leading the administration and customer service team to ensure accuracy and timeliness of contractor payments and associated workflow
  • Development of new and extension contractor agreements/contracts and onboarding functions
  • Acting as escalation point for contractor queries or problems
  • Reviewing and approving payments as required
  • Ensuring contractors are provided with maximum opportunity to benefit from value-added services
  • Presentations for contractor groups to build rapport and educate on services
  • Working on new leads and contributing to the growth of the business
  • Regular reporting to the business owners
  • General office functions
  • Mentoring junior staff
  • Development and maintenance of office processes and procedures

To excel in this role you will have:

  • Detailed understanding and working knowledge of business expenses, salary packaging, taxation and payroll processes and regulations (MYOB or similar)
  • Exposure to HR and employment contracts knowledge essential
  • Previous experience managing a small team to deliver services in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment
  • Excellent communication skills to build and maintain rapport with senior professionals
  • The ability to work with people from a range of cultures and backgrounds
  • Strong IT skills
  • Great organisation and time management skills
  • Professionalism and a can-do attitude
