The Role

Following a recent internal promotion, we are seeking applications from suitable candidates for a Financial Administration Manager to join our fast-paced growing finance team. We are looking for a candidate who can bring energy to this varied and active role to make it their own.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be expected to provide leadership and oversight in the effective and efficient processing of financial transactions across the Seymour Whyte Group which includes Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

This opportunity would suit a candidate who can demonstrate initiative and effective communication skills in managing a team in a high-volume transaction environment.

Duties

  • Managing, mentoring and directly overseeing a head office team of approx six (6) in the daily processing of financial transactions and building operational capacity
  • Providing emphasis on strong internal controls, focusing on the financial control framework to ensure the ongoing development of relevant policies and procedures
  • Liaising with auditors (internal and external), assisting with audit queries and implementing processes to address risks identified
  • Reviewing and approving the weekly and monthly Payroll and Accounts Payable payment runs, including reconciling all Payroll related general ledger accounts
  • Managing administrative related tasks including access rights to the online credit card and expense management portal

Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated 'hands on' experience in Payroll, Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable
  • Knowledge of Payroll related liabilities i.e. PAYG, Payroll Tax, Work Cover, Superannuation, Employee leave liabilities and FBT
  • Experience in using a fully integrated ERP system
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Formal accounting qualifications are preferred but not essential
  • Construction experience highly desirable but not essential
