The Opportunity
Due to an internal promotion, we’re seeking someone unique to undertake a vital role within our organisation – guiding our overseas Doctors through the labyrinth of legislation and registration pathways to ensure they obtain the relevant regulatory requirements to commence work in Australia & New Zealand.
Reporting to the Team Leader, your role will focus on supporting overseas-trained GPs with relocating and commencing work in Australia & New Zealand. You will work closely with the recruitment team, Doctors, clients and various regulatory bodies, to gather the requisite paperwork to make an application (on their behalf) for registration in the relevant state and country.
Key Responsibilities
- Collating and submitting applications on behalf of candidates & clients to the required bodies, tracking and communicating their progress and troubleshooting any issues.
- Case management – recording all key information, updates and notes.
- Building relationships with the clients and candidates as well as key regulatory authorities involved.
- Regular liaison with Wavelength’s registered Migration Agents who will be assisting the Doctors and clients with applications to the Department of Immigration.
- Undertaking research pertinent to particular cases to ensure current knowledge of the regulatory pathways.
- Updating/creating new protocols/policies as appropriate to reflect any changes in regulatory pathways within each state jurisdiction.
We know it’s an unusual role and it’s going to require a talented individual to succeed. You will be provided with intensive training and handover from the current incumbent and continuing advice and support can also be sought from other members of this experienced team. Tenacity and high levels of initiative and motivation will be essential to enable you to think outside the square, work autonomously and pre-empt the needs of the Recruiters, Doctors and Clients. You will have an inquisitive mind and thrive in a challenging role which requires lots of problem solving, diplomacy and excellent attention to detail.
You will possess 4+ years administration experience gained within a fast paced, people-focused environment and have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. Previous medical/regulatory industry knowledge and/or experience gained as an Australian Migration Agent would be highly valued.
