Our client, an international developer and investor of large-scale solar PV projects newly stablished in Australia, is looking for a Assistant Project Manager. A varied and interesting role offering an opportunity to be deeply involved in the delivery of the large-scale solar projects portfolio developed by a major world-leader in the sector.

Skills & Requirements
  • Assists senior management team in delivery of utility scale solar infrastructure projects – with primary assistance going to the Strategy & Planning Manager and Project Delivery Manager.
  • Key liaison role with project development companies, suppliers and construction division (sister company) to understand the project status, support the team in managing project schedules, budget trackers and key documentation for decision making as projects progress through the development phases.
  • Provides summary reporting of key analysis and management decisions required at various stages of approval for solar PV projects under development – both in English and Korean.
  • Helps establish systems and processes to continuously improve development procedures and process efficiencies. Additionally, will assist team to prepare and implement relevant compliance programs (i.e. ISO-9001, 14001).
  • Interacts with team members at a working level in Korean HQ to ensure effective two-way communication and clear presentation of progress and team requests (fluent Korean is therefore essential for this role).
  • To execute the above responsibilities, the individual will have to understand and be involved in the detail of project development and will therefore have access to a career growth plan into renewable energy project development, if so desired.
The Key performances indicators for this role include the following:
  • Strong teamwork in supporting senior management team in Australia.
  • Strong relationships and mutual respect/trust established with HQ team in Korea resulting in effective and efficient communication for the business.
  • Provision of regular project updates and business management reports.
  • Fast turnaround of summary documentation for internal approval processes.
  • Timely execution of reports and management updates as requested.
To be successful you will ideally have:
  • Dynamic, motivated self-starter attracted to the challenge and intensity of a ‘start up’ culture (albeit with the safety net of a large global corporate that has made a long-term commitment to the Australian market).
  • Highly organised with strong ability to prioritise and deliver to agreed deadlines.
  • Ability to work across different aspects of multiple projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across the team and to senior management.
  • Excellent written English and Korean (essential for the role).
  • Fluent spoken English and Korean (essential for the role).
  • 4-5 years business experience preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Although not expected to be a regular requirement, the role will involve some interstate travel occasionally.
