Our client is an iconic and rapidly growing Canberra based commercial organisation. With an office of over 70 staff and growing, a culture of high performance and excellence is engrained within the business.

The Opportunity:

Working in a new and modern office, this is an opportunity for a driven and strategic Office Manager to join the team in what is essentially a newly defined role. Whilst the initial emphasis is on general office management and finance / HR tasks, there is an option to move into more of an operations management and corporate services long-term. Due to anticipated growth, this is an opportunity to evolve within this business but will require the successful candidate to have the capacity to grow within their role in-line with business and operational needs. You can’t be too precious and will need to be happy to turn your hand to whatever needs doing!

The Role:

Working within a relatively small office based team (most staff work remotely), you will need to manage administration functions, provide support to remote staff and also man the reception desk 2 days per week whilst undertaking more complex tasks at the desk. Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:-

Office Administration

  • Answering phones and managing reception
  • Attend to daily office management tasks such as managing the meeting rooms, organising staff amenities, stationery orders, collecting mail
  • Booking staff travel and accommodation as well as providing EA support to Directors
  • Assisting project management staff with compiling reports, information and research

HR and Finance Administration

  • Coordinate staff inductions, including organising uniforms, IT equipment, phones, access cards, training etc.
  • Assist with establishing an employee benefits program
  • Manage social media pages i.e. Instagram, LinkedIn
  • Coordinate staff social events
  • Assisting the finance team with tasks such as credit card statement reconciliations, accounts payable data entry

The Person:

You will need to be charismatic and work with a high degree of professionalism and drive. Working with highly accomplished Directors and s supportive leadership team, it is essential that you are able to hold your own and have exceptional interpersonal skills and corporate presentation. You will be outcomes orientated and excited to take the next step in your career with an employer of choice. In addition you will have:

  • Minimum of 5 -7 + years’ experience in complex office administration and management - you will need to have had exposure to finance and HR related administration
  • Highly organised, efficient and capable of multitasking
  • You will be highly professional and mature and not at all precious - this is a role that looks after tasks ranging from basic to complex and no task can be ‘beneath you’ - all staff help out in this office
  • You will be proactive and have a high degree of initiative - this is an excellent organisation to join for someone looking for a career and further progression opportunity
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and systems savvy

The Salary:

A salary of $75K - $85K including superannuation will be offered to the successful candidate, dependent on experience.
