The Position

St John of God Social Outreach has an exciting opportunity available for an Administration Officer to join our Raphael Services team in Bendigo, Victoria. Raphael Services provide specialist care to mums, dads and families who suffer from anxiety, depression and other mental health issues during pregnancy and following childbirth.

In this position, you will provide high quality administrative and clerical support to the caregivers of the Raphael Services. Key functions of the position are to ensure that all reception, accounting, billing, reporting and computer data entry are carried out in a professional manner, whilst acting as the front-line person responsible for welcoming families who attend the service.

This position will be offered on a temporary 12-month contract with a view to permanency after this period, working 76 hours per fortnight, Monday-Friday. Part time hours will be considered.

Applicants with previous administration experience in a health care setting will be looked upon favourably.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Experience in providing reception support, preferable within a health care setting.
  • A warm, friendly and helpful manner and the ability to relate to young children and families.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated computer accuracy and literacy with ability to learn and use new systems and databases.
  • Experience in data collection, entry and management.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative when required.
  • Understanding of and commitment to patient confidentiality.
