Manpower and the Australian Defence Force work in partnership to recruit defence personnel for the Army, Navy, and Air force.  This collaboration utilises the skills and knowledge of both Defence Force personnel and Manpower employees.

An outstanding opportunity has now become available for a Psychology Examiner to join our team in the Newcastle DFR office. The role would ideally suit a self-motivated individual with good organisational skills and an eye for detail. This role is focused on the administration and marking of tests, not the interpretation of tests. No psychology qualification or experience is necessary. 

Your primary tasks will include:

  • Coordinating and conducting psychological testing for groups of candidates applying for entry into the Australian Defence Force
  • Controlling and maintaining psychological records and psychological test materials in accordance with strict policy guidelines
  • Maintaining and forwarding psychology records and documentation
  • Overseeing key aspects of the team’s quality control processes
  • General office administration tasks. You will be liaising with many people in the DFR organisation.

Essential skills include:

  • The ability to follow documented policy and procedure to meet quality specifications
  • Experience in balancing administrative deadlines and working under pressure
  • Computer literacy and experience in data entry
  • The ability to work independently as well as in a small team environment. It is an open office environment.

Desirable skills include:

  • Experience in administering a range of psychological and psychometric tests.
  • Previous exposure to military and/or paramilitary organisations (e.g. ADF, Police, Customs, Corrective Services etc.)

Your ability to work under time pressures, coupled with your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills will ensure you are successful.  You will be a key member of the Manpower DFR Psychology team and in return you’ll be given training right from the start and you’ll work within the framework of a supportive management team.

Essential

• Australian Citizenship
• Be able to obtain and hold a Security Clearance
