About the Organisation
Queensland Catholic Education Commission (QCEC) is supported by a Secretariat of about 45 staff and is essentially strategic in its principal goal with the purpose being to coordinate the advancement of Catholic education in Queensland. This organisation is the peak body for Catholic education in Queensland and is the entity recognised by governments for the purpose of funding.
About the Role
The position of Administration Support Officer (Reception) exists to:
- manage QCEC’s reception desk and incoming telephone calls
- provide general secretarial and administrative support to QCEC including to teams such as IT
- provide general corporate support to QCEC
About the Person
You will be a warm, enthusiastic and positive person who is customer service focused. You will have an engaging personality with the ability to communicate to staff and visitors to QCEC. You will be calm under pressure, have a pleasant telephone manner and will also understand the importance of being the first point of contact for the organisation. You will have an understanding of the Catholic Education Culture and will be comfortable in supporting and respecting the vision, mission and values of the Catholic Education system. Advanced IT skills will be highly regarded
Key Responsibilities will include:
- be the first point of contact for people who engage with QCEC
- manage multiple incoming telephone calls
- provide a warm welcome to Commission/Committee members and other visitors and attend to their needs as appropriate
- provide catering to meetings as required
- support staff in the IT area
- provide corporate support such as maintaining meeting rooms and common areas
- manage general administrative tasks such as processing mail, monitoring and ordering stationery, maintaining the stationery room, arranging courier services and managing the booking of external meetings
Key Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Attributes
- Commitment to the vision, mission and values of the Catholic Education system
- High level interpersonal skills and a warm and welcoming disposition
- Solid organisational skills, keen attention to detail, punctuality, and initiative in the preparation and execution of responsibilities
- Knowledge of computer software packages, especially Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel and/or the ability to develop skills in these areas
- Advanced IT skills will be highly regarded
