About the Business and Role:

EON Foundation (www.eon.org.au) was created in 2005 to provide practical support to improve the health and well-being of Aboriginal people in remote communities in Western Australia. A not-for-profit organisation, EON delivers the EON Thriving Communities Program, focused on improving nutrition through gardening and nutrition education as a basis for chronic disease prevention in these communities.

The role of the Administration Assistant is to provide administrative support to the EON Foundation staff and board, allowing the organisation to achieve its strategic goals and the workplace to run smoothly.  

The Administration Assistant will report to the Executive Manager.

Remuneration is negotiable based on experience. Salary sacrifice benefits are also available due to the organisation's PBI status.

This part-time role (approx. 22 hours per week) is flexible and can be worked over 3-4 days. The role varies day to day and requires a highly organised,dynamic individual.

The specific duties will include:

  • General administrative duties including answering calls, management of office machines and resources, filing and database management;
  • Collation of data and information from operational reports;
  • Co-ordinate social media posts and website updates;
  • Day-to-day maintenance of the Customer Relationship Management system;
  • Assist with researching available grants;
  • Assist with the preparation, formatting and distribution of newsletters, progress reports to funders, funding applications, EON resources and publications;
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for Board and Management;  
  • Manage the ICT environment including profile management, security, backups and liaise with the IT service providers;
  • Assist with logistical needs of field staff;
  • Take minutes at Board meetings;
  • Other administrative duties as directed by Board or Management.

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • Highly developed administrative, ICT and organisational skills
  • Highly proficient in Excel, Word, Office 365 and iOS
  • Demonstrated experience in providing executive support to Board and Management
  • Demonstrated experience in preparation of reports and publications including newsletters and social media
  • Demonstrated experience in website management and proficient with Wordpress
  • Proficient with social media platforms
  • Understanding of cultural engagement and awareness

Licences and Certification:

  • National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children Check
  • Valid Driver’s licence
  • Be able to work in Australia
