The Illawarra Aboriginal Corporation (IAC) was formed in 1980 for the purpose of providing advocacy and culturally appropriate services to meet the social, cultural and economic needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Illawarra Region.  The IAC is Aboriginal owned and operated and delivers a range of programs including;

  • Myimbarr - Permanency Support Out of Home Foster Care
  • Housing – including Social Housing, Going Home Staying Home (GHSH) and Koori Strong
  • Warrigal Employment - Aboriginal Employment, Training and Community Support.
  • Aged & Disability – Home care for Elders within the community as well as assisting community members with disability through the Ability Links program 
  • Noogaleek Children’s Centre and Winnanggay preschools support the Educational, Health and Welfare needs of children and families attending our service.

The Myimbarr Administration Coordinator is a full time ongoing position that is responsible for providing administration support to our Myimbarr Out of Home Care team as well as providing professional “front of house” reception services to those who visit or telephone our Wollongong Office. 

To be successful in this position you will need;

  • Demonstrated experience in similar administration position and/or, qualifications in administration or community services
  • Excellent verbal and written communication 
  • Great organisational skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks
  • Strong computer skills including database entry, word processing and Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Ability to work both in a team and with minimal supervision
  • Proactive and adaptable work ethic

This is an Aboriginal identified position authorised under S14d of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, confirmation of Aboriginality will need to be provided

Qualifications or experience in Out of Home Care, Social Work or related field would be highly regarded.

It is also a requirement for this position to have a current NSW Driver's licence, Working with Children Check and National Criminal Police Check.
