MEGT Recruitment and Management Services are currently recruiting for a Legal Firm located in Melbourne's Central Business District.

This is a real career start within a supportive environment, where the successful trainee will have the opportunity to develop their experience and skills on the job while working towards completing a Certificate III in Business Legal, and becoming a qualified Legal Administration Guru.

About the role:

Reporting to the Office Manager, this role is a full time support role covering a variety of legal and administration based tasks.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Attend to incoming emails to ensure they are actioned/replied to promptly
  • Opening and scanning incoming mail and scanning and sending outgoing mail
  • Answering phones
  • Greeting clients/visitors
  • Ensuring all office equipment is in working order
  • Ordering office supplies
  • Assisting Solicitors with preparing briefs, electronic filing and company searches
  • Assisting with monthly invoices and Trust reporting when Office Manager is unavailable
  • Assisting the Office Manager and the office with all general administrative duties
Key selection criteria:
  • Comfortable with a high level of email communication
  • Outgoing and personable nature - constant communication needed
  • Well presented
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office suite and technology generally
  • Accurate typing and data entry
  • Attention to detail and able to identify errors
  • Ability to think on the spot and problem solve/suggest solutions
  • Time management skills and ability to multitask
  • Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Ownership of responsibilities and sense of pride in ones work
  • Responsiveness to feedback (both positive and constructive)
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn and continually improve
  • Able to pick up new tasks quickly with enthusiasm
  • Demonstrates initiative and pro-activeness - always looking to improve self and internal processes where possible
