Our Company

Carst & Walker Australia is a subsidiary of Hobart Enterprises Limited, an international chemical trading and distribution group with representation in Australia, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Who are we looking for?

An Australian resident with experience in import & distribution of chemical products and dealing with overseas suppliers and local customers and logistics providers.

Experience within or supplying to the coatings/inks/adhesives manufacturing industry would be a definite advantage.

We may consider a graduate or similar qualified individual with a technical or business degree or diploma who sees a future career in international business in the chemical industry.

Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs is essential, and good experience with MYOB accounting package would be a great advantage.

No, but if you have worked before, we would like to hear about it. Full and on-going training provided.

Salary Level?

Commensurate with experience and qualification, negotiable from AUD60k + per annum.

Where is the position?

Brookvale, Sydney, NSW 2100. A modern stylish office in a complex containing a coffee bar and gym.

When would I start?

Immediately or with a suitable notice period.

About the day-to-day?

The role is that of Sales Support and you would be responsible for assisting the Product Manager and General Manager in supplying customers with quality products, increasing sales, and ensuring and maintaining customer satisfaction. Some of the responsibilities of this position include:

• Communicating with customers and suppliers, processing customer sales orders, invoices and supplier purchase orders using the MYOB accounting package

• Conducting telephone sales and internal sales, and handling all incoming calls promptly;

• Establishing and maintaining customer databases of products purchased and their pricing;

• Following up on shipping documents and details;

• Ensuring that records are stored safely and are easily retrievable;

• Ensuring that documentation is correctly and efficiently forwarded for processing;

• Performing customer satisfaction audits;

• Assisting other departments when colleagues are absent;

• Assisting the business to operate in accordance with ISO, SHE and Responsible Care standards;

• Sample management – preparation, checking, storage etc.;

• Providing administrative support to Product Manager and General Managers.
