This position is Part-Time (Work will be school hours Monday-Friday.  Hours to be set at time of appointment.)

*** We are seeking to fill 2 vacancies. One with an emphasis on Volunteer coordination and the other on Activities Coordination.

 

Job Responsibilities        

The duties and responsibilities will vary according to the current needs of the organisation, however the main fields that the position holder will be involved in are: 

Administration and Reception Duties

  • Reception duties including phone answering, providing friendly, accurate information and message taking.
  • At all times, making people feel welcome and that they are appreciated;
  • Promoting the RSL’s services;
  • Accurate record keeping;
  • Accurate filing and data entry
  • Assisting with MYOB data entry (if required)
  • Ensure written communications (ie. memos and posters) are accurate and kept up to date.
  • Collect and distribute mail;
  • Action or distribute emails and other communications in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Provide a high level of customer service to Members and the public;
  • Ensure the administration and office area clean and tidy at all times;
  • Assist the Executive Secretary with administrative duties if requested;
  • Check and record all incoming stock and supplies
  • Other general administrative duties as directed by the supervisor.

  • Perform other duties as requested by your Supervisor from time to time

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • 2+years prior administration/ reception experience
  • High commitment to WH&S practices and focus on eliminating and minimising hazards
  • Sound administrative skills to ensure correct documentation and statistics are supplied to management in an accurate and timely manner,
  • Sound written communication skills for maintaining member records and producing basic reports.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Current valid C-class driver’s license
  • Compassionate and supportive
  • Very confidential
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment with many competing and unplanned demands
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Certificate for Employment (Police background check)
  • Ability to work at events to commemorate special RSL events (ie. ANZAC Day)
  • Willingness to undertake any job-related training your Manager deems appropriate
  •  

Preferred

  • Certificate III in Administration or Business
  • Computerised accounting software experience
  • Current advanced First Aid and CPR certification
  • Ex-Military background and Member of the RSL Sub Branch
  • Willing to undertake the ‘ASSIST’ Suicide Prevention Training

 

REMUNERATION

Remuneration will be dependent upon the successful applicants’ experience.
