About the Company
The Animal Welfare League of Queensland Inc (AWLQ) is a Not For Profit organisation that operates in the South East Queensland area since 1959 and cares for over 14,000 animals each year, with over 190 employees across 5 sites, including 2 Community Vet Clinics in South East Queensland plus 13 Ops Shops.
We are a very dynamic company that are proactive in best practice and processes for our locations. We are seen as having some of the best practices in Shelter Rehoming.
The Role ($65,00.00)
The role is located at our Gold Coast facility at Coombabah, our ideal candidate will be able to look after our purchasing and procurement needs, have a good understanding of IT, can negotiate best rates for our utilities including phones etc, project manage our building improvements, look after our Motor vehicles (acquisition, maintenance, registration & insurance), be hands on if/when the need arises, the role reports directly to our CEO and is part the Head Office Team.

Selection Criteria

Previous Purchasing Management
-
Negotiations for best price (incl Utilities)

IT knowledge and understanding

Previous exposure to Asset Management and Register

Compliance and Risk Management

Working knowledge of WHS

Current manual Qld Drivers licence essential

Forklift licence desirable

Data entry

Good understanding of building application requirements and to liaise with local authorities and contractors
