An opportunity has arisen for a motivated Accommodation Assistant to join our team based in the Mackay region.

The Role

This Full Time role is a DIDO 14/7 Roster, will report to the Accommodation & Administration Manager, you will deliver a range of services including but not limited to:

  • The primary objective of an Accommodation Team Member is to maintain and continuously update the Reservation Booking System thus ensuring room information is up to date and information is provided to housekeeping team to ensure all required rooms are ready in accordance with required timeframes
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and guests. Maintain village shop, cash handling and re-stocking and ensure accurate filing and record keeping are maintained 
  • Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing between Client/visitors/enquirers and relevant staff, and interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions.
  • Perform the daily accommodation and reception desk services, answer calls and maintain a rapid response rate according to agreed standards in an efficient, professional and courteous manner. Handle customer complaints professionally and promptly and escalate issues to the Manager if unable to resolve
  • Operate a variety of standard office machines, including a personal computer and a variety of computer software, phone, fax, calculator, shredding machine and photocopy machine. Compile daily reports, file data and perform other routine tasks as assigned and as instructed by Village Management
  • Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures. Follow safety practices in the workplace

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide exceptional administration and clerical support to the village site
  • Ensuring all flights and accommodation administration tasks are completed (air transport and room allocation for camp residents)
  • Extensive computer based duties
  • Customer service – being the face of Spotless
  • Perform other duties at times including, but not limited to; retail, room cleaning, dining room and attendant duties

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certificate II in Business Administration or relevant industry experience in a similar role;
  • Experience with accommodation reception i.e.; hotel/motel reception
  • Experience with a Reservation Management System;
  • Current Qld Manual Drivers Licence
  • Hold or have the ability to obtain Section 4 (CBM) and Standard 11

 EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2 years in an administrative and/or clerical role in a fast-paced office environment, working to tight time frames
  • Confident in the use of the entire Microsoft Office Suite, including excel
  • Experience in ‘In-Flight’ software
  • High level of customer service
  • An ability to stay focused when the going gets tough
  • General office duties such as using computers, telephones, photocopiers, fax machines etc.

Accommodation, meals & uniforms are provided for this Drive in, Drive out role from Mackay.
