The Role
Due to expansion at Epworth Richmond, we are seeking casual Patient Services Officers to be responsible for multiple aspects of the pre-admission and admission process for our elective and emergency patients. This role will include processing of elective bookings for surgical and medical patients as well as other service booking requests, conducting health fund eligibility checks, admitting and discharging of patients, responding promptly to enquiries and requests, handling patient accounts, compiling estimates, general administrative duties and entering patient’s details to create admissions. This role may also involve admitting patients and completing fund eligibility checks for patients who are admitted via our Emergency Department.
In this role you will liaise closely with doctors, secretaries and patients, responding promptly to bookings enquiries, requests and general administrative duties.
Skills & Experience
To be successful you will have:
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong computer literacy
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong customer service focus
- Ability to prioritise in a timely and accurate manner
- Ability to cope under pressure and make informed decisions according to hospital needs
Previous administration experience in the health care sector, medical or health fund industry would be advantageous.
Patient Services is open 7 days a week from 6.00 am to 8 pm. Shift times may vary during this time as per a rotating roster.
