Conditions:

This is a 12 month maximum term part time position (25 hours per week) located at our Perth Head Office.

About the Role:

This role is accountable for ensuring our employees payroll records are accurately maintained in our corporate systems enabling accurate and timely payment and reporting while providing a valued advisory service to our stakeholders.

Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader you’ll support operational excellence through the completion of payroll input each fortnight and the provision of service to employees and Formal Leaders.  You must maintain a calm and positive approach through peak workload periods and support team colleagues at this time. 

You will be required to understand Western Power enterprise agreements, policies and work instructions with sufficient depth of knowledge and ensure legislative changes are well understood and implemented effectively.  Is it essential that you take pride in your work by providing excellent information service to customers on all payroll and related matters (payroll, leave, superannuation, tax and termination arrangements).

About you:

The successful applicant will be experienced and competent in the following:

  • At least 4 + years sound operational experience in payroll processing work in a large, complex organisation – including award interpretation, rostering & shift work, timesheets
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Australian payroll legislative requirements
  • Self-led with an ability to prioritise work while maintain a calm and positive approach through peak workload periods and support team colleagues.
  • Use of problem solving skills to identify issues and provide input for solutions considering customer expectations, Company policies and legislation
  • Exhibit agility and adaptability in a changing environment through driving continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated customer focus
  • Satisfactory National Police Clearance
