We are seeking a professional, enthusiastic Business and Ministerial Services Officer to join the Department of Finance and Services Innovation to provide support in the delivery of business services by the Office of the Executive Director (OED).

This role will support the OED across many functions, it will ccoordinate and prepare briefings, correspondence and parliamentary service requests. Accommodating and responding with initiative to changing priorities and operating environments is a key part of this role.It is a busy and challenging role, one that will give you the opportunity to showcase your skillset, to push your skills to their full potential and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and undertake the Ministerial briefings and correspondence process, assist with coordinating SafeWork NSW internal approvals and correspondence, and provide business support services
  • Identify emerging or recurring issues or trends, and escalate contentious or complex matters to the Senior Officer
  • Collect and prepare the analysis of business performance information to contribute to informed decision making and the drafting of business material.
  • Support the planning and delivery of business functions of the OED.
  • Respond proactively to changing circumstances.
  • Research and prepare reports, briefings, submissions, corporate reports and other documents, compiling data and information, designing layout and presentation, using advanced word processing techniques to ensure the professional presentation of material.
  • Provide accurate and informed advice and assistance to enquiries in a timely and confidential manner.

Experience needed:
  • Display superior written communication skills for the preparation of high level documentation including briefing notes, presentations, reports and submissions.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and coordination skills, with demonstrated experience engaging with stakeholders at various levels
  • Be organised and processed driven but flexible enough to meet changing priorities and agreed deadlines
  • Think critically and be solutions focused
  • Excellent influencing and negotiating with others to deliver results
  • Be committed to delivering quality support to the OED
