The role of Depot Supervisor Support Officer is responsible for providing effective administrative support, coordinating functions, customer service, advice and assistance to support the Depot’s operational requirements and the operational Supervisors (internal customers) within Central Coast Council’s (CCC) various Depot environments and to ensure that all enquiries are handled in a professional manner in accordance with Council’s policies and procedures and agreed service levels.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Manage Depot front counter, email and telephone switch customer service operations in a professional manner in line with CCC policies and procedures as required and demonstrate a commitment to providing high quality customer service;
  • Provide effective and efficient administrative support and co-ordinating functions to the Depot Operational Supervisor's ensuring works loads are prioritised and delivered within agreed timeframes and completed in accordance with CCC policies and procedures;
  • Ensure that Depot Administration staff are trained in duties of the role, so as to ensure workloads are covered during periods of leave.

Essential Criteria:

  • Certificate III qualification in Business Administration or related field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing professional development;
  • Extensive administrative experience and/or experience in office management;

  • Extensive experience in a multi-focused service environment (both call centre and face-to-face);

  • Demonstrated experience working in a diverse environment with constant interruptions, sometimes difficult customers and/or emergency situations;

  • Demonstrated experience in the use of computers and software packages including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications;

  • Ability to work independently and to plan and coordinate work priorities, including the ability to work in a diverse environment with constant interruptions, sometimes difficult customers and/or emergency situations.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Qualifications as a Justice of the Peace, or willingness to obtain if required;

  • First Aid qualifications or willingness to obtain if required;

  • Previous Local Government experience inclusive of; a broad knowledge of local government operations and decision making processes, Engineering practices, policies and procedures;

  • Experience coordinating others in an administration environment;

  • Previous experience as a trainer/mentor within a similar customer service delivery environment.

This role provides a salary range of $29.45 to $35.35 per hour ($412.30 to $494.90 per week) + Superannuation.
