  • Salary range $105,409 - $116,157 pa (Clerk grade 9/10)

We are seeking a professional, enthusiastic Senior Business and Ministerial Services Officer to join the Department of Finance and Services Innovation in the pivotal role to provide senior support in the delivery of business services by the Office of the Executive Director (OED) with a primary focus on Parliamentary and Ministerial services and advice, Agency correspondence services and Executive support.


This is a sensational role and looking for someone who has a strong focus on reporting, developing briefs on strategic issues, engaging with key stakeholders across the organisation. This opportunity would suit someone with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills as they are responsible for providing a range of high level of executive, secretariat and project support services.




Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high level support to the Office of the Executive Director
  • Collect and prepare the analysis of business performance information to contribute to informed decision making.
  • Manage the preparation and review of responses to Ministerial and Parliamentary requests for service and Agency correspondence that facilitate informed decision-making and are high-quality, accurate, complete, risk-assessed and delivered on time - including questions on notice, short notice requests, house folder notes, budget estimates, inquiries, briefs, advices and complex correspondence
  • Liaise and co-ordinate information between senior officers in the Division to obtain necessary information.
  • Research and prepare strategic advice, information and reports on diverse and complex policy, planning and operational matters to facilitate informed decision making and planning.
  • Prepare reports, briefings, submissions, corporate reports and other documents, compiling data and information, designing layout and presentation, using advanced word processing techniques to ensure the professional presentation of material.
  • Provide accurate and informed advice and assistance to enquiries in a timely and confidential manner.

Key Challenges:
  • Dealing with a diverse range of complex and sensitive issues in an environment characterised by conflicting priorities and political and social sensitivities.
  • Managing multiple competing deadlines across internal, Parliamentary and Ministerial service lines in accordance with agreed standards and timeframes in a high-volume work environment to achieve business requirements

Experience needed: 
  • Have exceptional analytical, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to take a pragmatic approach to the development and delivery of innovative solutions to complex work place issues.
  • Display superior written communication skills for the preparation of high level documentation including briefing notes, presentations, reports and submissions.
  • Be committed to delivering quality, customer centric services to diverse business groups with a dedication to assisting them in the achievement of their objectives.
