Western Riverina Community College is a not for profit, community based college that specialises in the development and delivery of quality vocational training and education programs, as well as leisure and lifestyle courses. In 2018 WRCC established the Western Riverina Community School, a co-educational secondary school for years 9 and 10. About the role

This graduate role is responsible for a high level of support to the CEO for all matters of business administration and financial control, personnel matters, property management and managing relationships of regulatory bodies, employees and the community.  

Specific areas of responsibility include:

  1. Support and make recommendations to the CEO
  2. Coordinate and manage College issues such as Personnel, Capital Works and other matters where required by the CEO.
  3. Be responsible for producing and maintaining systems in relation to budgetary control.
  4. Oversee the administrative function of the College and the resolution of issues as they arise.
  5. Be responsible for the efficient administration of the Company, particularly with regard to ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  6. Ensure that the College complies with relevant legislation and regulation, and ensures the Board remained informed of their legal responsibilities.

Skills and experience

  • A recognised professional qualification in finance, accounting or business.
  • Highly developed Interpersonal skills.
  • High-level written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial systems and procedures.
  • Knowledge of strategic budget planning and monitoring.

Desirable Criteria

  • Evidence of commitment to personal professional development.
  • Understanding of employment and health and safety legislation.
  • Understanding of compliance needs associated with the operation of educational institutions, inclusive of educational standards and associated legislation.
  • An understanding of educational finance issues.
  • Knowledge of characteristics and elements pertaining to evolving good Governance.
  • Experience in the negotiation of contracts and procurement.
  • Leading on health and safety and risk assessments.
