College Overview

The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is the largest single College of seven Colleges at ANU. The College, which is structured into two main research schools, offers degrees in more than 20 discipline areas and excels in research across the creative arts, humanities and social sciences. The College has a substantial international research presence and is a major source of national policy advice. Our academic staff are internationally recognised for their research, and 46 are members of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, the Academy of the Social Sciences of Australia, or both. We also host 13 Australian Research Council Future Fellows and two ARC Laureates. A hub of vibrant activity, we host more than 100 lectures, concerts and exhibitions each year, most of which are open to the public. Our students, staff and graduates come from more than 60 nations, bringing a diversity of perspective to campus life.

The ANU Centre for Social Research and Methods (CSRM) is a world class research centre with a focus on data, research methods and social policy. CSRM has a number of programs including the Australian Data Archive, Centre for Gambling Research, social policy, evaluations and criminology. The centre is responsible for providing undergraduate and post-graduate programs in criminology, social research methods and data analytics. The Centre is also runs the highly respected Australian Election Study, World Values Survey and ANUPoll. CSRM has around 35 staff from a range of academic disciplines including economics, statistics, psychology, sociology, criminology, computer science and demography.

Position Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and experienced Administrator to join the Centre for Social Research and Methods. Reporting directly to the Centre Manager, the position plays an important role within CSRM assisting with a broad range of tasks which includes student related administrative activities as part of the CSRM Administrative support team. Under limited supervision, the Centre Administration Officer liaises closely with staff and students within the Centre on all student related matters including advice relating to program & course offerings within the Centre. The position will provide advice and support to academic staff in the areas of course & program development, timetabling, and results and also assist the Centre manager in the on-going development of innovative processes while ensuring adherence to University policies and procedures.

Previous experience in tertiary education environment and knowledge of the University undergraduate and postgraduate coursework Student Administration will be highly regarded.
