The Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a National Switchboard Operator to join the Real Estate Services team based in Sydney. This a fantastic entry level position where you will have the chance to liaise with a wide range of clients and internal stakeholders.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for managing all incoming calls and ensuring that they are answered promptly and transferred correctly. 

The hours for this role will be 1pm to 6pm Monday to Friday, however flexibility is required as the switchboard operates from 8am to 6pm and at times the incumbent may be required to work the full shift.

Key Responsibilities within this position will include: 

• Answer all incoming calls for all offices in Australia

• Ensure the console is kept up to date

• Check New Starter and Exit spreadsheet sent by MMC Facilities Manager and update as required

• Contact Managers of new starters to determine extension of new starter

• Liaise with team assistants to ensure updated team lists are sent through regularly

• Liaise with Managers to obtain relevant client information for their respective teams

• Reflect a professional and courteous profile for MMC

The successful applicant will have:

• Prior experience working on a busy switchboard will be well regarded

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly build credibility and exude confidence in a fast-paced, team oriented environment

• Demonstrated diplomacy in dealings with a variety of callers

• Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities

• Willingness and eager to learn new technology, skills and enhance capabilities in an evolving environment

• Strong verbal communication skills

• Maintain the highest standards of ethics and integrity at all times
