The Organisation
The Vincentian Fathers Oceania are part of a worldwide Catholic Religious Congregation established in 1625 by St Vincent de Paul. The Oceania Provincial Office provides administration and other support to around 50 Confreres serving in a variety of ministries, including parishes, social outreach and care for their senior and retired Confreres in locations around Australia, Fiji and the Solomon Islands.
The Role
Reporting to the Provincial, you will be responsible for providing professional and efficient secretarial, administrative and general office support to the Provincial and the Provincial Council.
The role would suit an experienced, self-motivated person looking for work-life balance.
Key Requirements
You will ideally possess the following:
- Experience providing personal assistance and support to senior executives
- Demonstrated keyboard skills and proficiency in working with Microsoft Office Programs—including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills—both oral and written
- Ability to use electronic filing and records management systems
- Demonstrated ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality and to exercise good judgement
- Strong organisational skills, with the capacity to work independently under minimal direction
- Willingness and ability to work additional hours if required and to attend meetings after hours on an occasional basis
- An understanding of the Catholic Church, in particular the Vincentian (Congregation of the Mission) Oceania Province and a willingness to support, promote and celebrate the Vincentian Charism and the Catholic ethos of the Vincentian Fathers and Brothers
