Our client is a NSW government department working with children, adults, families and communities to improve lives and help people realise their potential.
There is an immediate opportunity to join the Care Leavers team assessing Care Leaver Applications, reviewing information, files and history to provide to the applicant whilst adhering to tight deadlines, policies and procedures.
Commencing immediately until the end of August with a view to be extended. Working hours are from 9.00am - 5.00pm with a 35 hour week based in Ashfield.
Your New Role:
Assistant Project Officers are responsible for assessing Care Leaver Applications and accessing sensitive client files to provide clients with family history enquiries.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Accessing and reviewing sensitive files, records and applications of care leavers
- Undertake research and analysis to support applications in meeting specific deadlines and applicants
- Update documentation, including registers which support delivery of projects in compliance with agreed processes and guidelines
- Liaise with other departments and third parties with regard to information required
- Source and provide information once it has been reviewed and vetted to clients regarding their family history
- Maintain and update data bases and records with accuracy and within guidelines
- Work effectively with team members towards mutual continued development and seek feedback on project tasks undertaken
Skills Required for the Role:
- The ability to work autonomously
- Strong administration skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience in dealing with sensitive information, records & documents
- Exceptional reading and written skills
- Excellent communication skills and logical thinking skills
- Ability to work within specific deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in the arts, humanities or journalism, social sciences
- Current Working with children check
- Police check will be undertaken for the role
