An interesting and challenging opportunity exists within our Picton office, managing materials procurement and assisting with Project Administration for our Architectural Metalwork and Balustrades Company, using our project management software Workbench. Would suit junior estimator, graduate engineer, or graduate civil engineer willing to gain experience in Project Management and Administration.
Reporting to the Project Managers you will be responsible for the following role:
Procurement
- Review of Quotation, Item Details, and Values with Project Managers continuously to ensure purchasing is under budget, meets quality standards, and is delivered within required time frames
- Price all components: 3 quotes
- Place orders with suppliers using workbench project system
- Check parts arrive and follow up delivery with supplier to ensure on time
- Liaise with Project Managers on all aspects to ensure delivery in time/on time
- Price and organise finishes – paint, powdercoat, galvanized
- Price and organise Timber, Steel and fixings
- Prepare dxf drawing files for glass orders
- Prepare dxf files for laser cutting
- Assist with procurement of offshore materials
- Organise transport – Freight, Crane/lifters, Scaffold etc.
- Support for Estimating with quotation requests
- Maintain and develop strong supply chain relationships to improve buying power
Administration
- Plan, organise and manage compliance administration and quality control covering SWMS, WHS, and Risk Assessment for site and workshop
- Report at weekly Project Meetings on project budgets, timelines
- Prepare weekly project schedule for meeting
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications Education, Training and Certifications
· Minimum of a 2 – 3-year Technical Diploma in Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Work Experience
· 2 or more years' experience in construction, preferably in operations.
· Project Management Skills
· Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills, knowledge of Workbench Project Management Software or similar an advantage
Australian Residency or rights to work in Australia.
