The role is responsible for capturing, classifying, maintaining, distributing and controlling all records in Council, this enables the efficient operation of the organisations records management program in order to support business and meet regulatory and best practice requirements of recordkeeping and records management.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Capturing, classifying, maintaining, distributing (including via courier van) and controlling all records in accordance with Council policies and procedures;
  • Identifying vital records and impose control to ensure their preservation;
  • Researching and providing information including the documentation of the authenticity of records retrieved in accordance with industry standards.

Essential Criteria:

  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence;
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role;
  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of and experience in Electronic Document and Record Management Systems e.g. HPE Content Manager;
  • Demonstrated experience in applying the State Records Act and any other relevant regulations, policies and procedures within a Local Government environment;
  • High proficiency in the use of computers and software packages including word processing, email, spreadsheet and database applications, with accurate and efficient data entry skills;
  • Proven ability to communicate both written and verbally effectively at all levels;
  • Demonstrated ability to participate and actively contribute in a team environment to achieve organisational goals and outcomes;
  • Strong customer service ethos and a demonstrated customer-centric approach to service provision.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Certificate III qualification in Business (Recordkeeping) or related field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing professional development.
