Carn Construction is a family owned and run business started by Mr Barney McBride in 1994. Mr McBride remains Managing Director of the company’s operations and is joined by his son, Padhraic McBride, whom is currently in the role of General Foreman across all projects.
Carn Construction has continued to grow and expand by continually providing its clients with service reliability, integrity, quality and standards rated among the best in the industry. Carn Construction’s operates across Australia and predominantly focuses on large scale projects involving overhead and underground transmission lines, water & sewerage treatment plants, and Electrical sub-stations.
The business is currently seeking a casual administrator/bookkeeper to support the Managing Director and General Foreman with the following:
- General administrative duties as required on projects
- Organising travel arrangements for the project crews
- Bookkeeping including
- Bank Reconciliation
- Accounts Receivable
- Accounts Payable
- Payroll
- Marketing initiatives including website update
Carn Construction does not operate out of a dedicated office. This position is structured as follows:
- Occasional blocks of work onsite at the project (depending on location in Aus); and
- Remote work from a home office.
This is a unique opportunity which provides great flexibility with the ability to operate from home. The successful candidate will be the following:
- Able to work onsite for 1 or 2-week blocks as required;
- Able to operate autonomously from an established home office;
- Preferably located in the Port Douglas area. For the right candidate, this is not critical;
- Be experienced in bookkeeping including payroll. Prior experience with Xero will be highly regarded;
- Highly trustworthy;
- Demonstrates strong initiative to develop the administrative processes of the business;
- Have outstanding communication and organisational skills; and
- Able to manage and develop the marketing initiatives.
