Our client is a successful and growing aged care facility based on the northern end of the Central Coast. This organisation has a positive and supportive work culture. Due to recent growth, they are now looking to hire a Rostering Officer to take on a newly created role.

Reporting to the Director of Nursing, you will be planning rosters for all service delivery employees while taking into account training, leave and any other factors that may affect your planning. Using your communication skills, you will liaise with staff and managers to ensure core staffing numbers are maintained and client needs are met. You will also be responsible for working with the payroll team and occasionally assisting with payroll queries.

Key duties and responsibilities include:
  • Record and update changes on the computerised roster system
  • Call in staff as approved by the Director of Nursing
  • Maintain and update Staff Roster
  • Processing of roster, payroll and general enquiries
  • Ensure staffing ratios are accurate in each area, on each shift. 
  • Record all calls taken and update computerised roster system with changes in a timely fashion
  • Replace/cancel shifts 
  • Code and check agency bills and record area of work against shifts and forward to Finance Officer for disbursement of costs
  • Word processing as required
  • Perform duties as directed including message taking, phone answering etc.
  • Clerical support as required
  • Communicating and negotiating with staff regarding their attendance at work
  • Payroll assistance when needed
To be considered for this role you will be someone who thrives in a busy, dynamic environments where your capacity to meet deadlines, problem solve staffing solutions and work collaboratively with others will ensure that you are a much valued team member.

Handling multiple demands from clients and staff will not faze you, as you will draw on your excellent listening and communication skills to get the best outcome for all concerned.

You will have excellent experience with Excel spreadsheets and/or rostering systems and must have experience in a similar Rostering role.

You will recognize the different skills and abilities that each person brings to the workplace and work collaboratively to enhance the client and staff experience.

Experience using TimeTarget will be an advantage but not essential.
